Custom Cast Metal Paver Installation Inspired by Tree Grates

At Dexter Yard in Seattle’s South Lake Union, our client looked to Urban Accessories to help define outdoor spaces with a distinctive and durable surface solution. Drawing from four of our existing tree grate patterns, we collaborated with GCH Planning & Landscape Architecture and SkB Architects to develop custom cast metal pavers tailored to the site. These ductile iron pavers feature our rust conditioner finish to reduce rust bleed, keeping the surrounding hardscape looking clean and polished.

Installed throughout the 1.7-acre mixed-use development, the pavers contribute to a unified design language while standing up to high pedestrian traffic. The final result supports Dexter Yard’s vision of a vibrant, community-oriented urban environment—proof that small design details can help shape big ideas.
